Privacy Policy — Order Bell - New Order Alerts

Order Bell - New Order Alerts (“Order Bell”) is a Shopify admin app. When a new order comes in, it plays a sound in your browser and can show an alert. Here’s what that involves for your data.
What we access
- Order fields used for alerts: ID, order name/number, totals, tags, sales channel, line-item product titles and product IDs, and whether the order is a test. We get these from Shopify webhooks and the Admin API.
- Product catalog (read-only) if you set up product-based rules.
- Shop and staff session IDs so we can sign you in and, if you use them, remember per-staff mute/volume prefs.
What we store
Shop settings, sound files and metadata, alert rules, a short activity log (order number, total, product title — not customer names, emails, or addresses), staff preferences, Shopify sessions, and a small audit trail for Shopify’s compliance webhooks. We don’t sell your data. We don’t use order data for ads.
Where it runs
The app and its database run on our hosting. Shopify handles login and billing. Sound plays in your browser while Order Bell (or the listener window) is open.
GDPR / privacy webhooks
- customers/data_request — we acknowledge the request. Order Bell doesn’t keep customer personal info for its own use.
- customers/redact — we delete any customer-linked data within 30 days.
- shop/redact — after uninstall, we delete the shop’s data as Shopify requires.
Sign-in
The embedded app uses Shopify session tokens (App Bridge). We don’t lean on third-party cookies for auth. Browser local storage may hold simple prefs only — things like mute or notifier on/off.
